The Desert Moon Mobile and RV Park LLC has been renting our 11 trailer and camper spaces since the Uranium Boom days of the early 1950's. You could say our little park is pretty "Retro" but you could also call it mighty "Peaceful" as it is situated in the little town of Thompson Springs (population 40-50) just off of I-70.
Of course electricity, water, and sewer utilities are available at each parking spot as well as big shade trees. We also have newly renovated restrooms and shower facilities to accommodate tent campers and smaller pop-ups.
This little park is now under new ownership and management by Mr. John Lines. It is just west of the Old Desert Moon Hotel, which was built in 1936 and served many travelers, miners, railroad, workers, truck drivers, and tourists over the years.
We are the place to park your camper when you want to check out the Sego Canyon Petroglyphs in the Book Cliffs Mountains which shadow us, or when you want to be situated part way between Moab, Green River, or Grand Junction. The Arches National Park's north boundary is less than 10 miles away. Canyonlands National park is about an hour south of us. The newly established Bears Ears National Monument near Blanding UT is less than a half days travel. The Colorado national Monument is an hour east and three Utah state parks (Dead Horse Point, Green River, and Goblin Valley) are also within an hours drive from here.
We will also gladly consider accommodating folks who want to stay long term.
We will be happy to have you stay with us and I will personally be glad to share the local lore, history, special sites, and so forth with you.
thanks, JOHN LINES 253-394-3661
We hope to see you soon as Southeast Utah has it all!
